Wrought iron

The Steaven Richard Workshop opened in Paris in 2001. Answering the demands of architects and designers, an innovative, experimental approach led to rapid expansion of the company. In 2015 the workshop and design office moved to Valenton, 30 minutes from the city centre, to facilitate larger project development. Our blacksmiths and metalworkers transform all types of metal, mostly for international projects. Associating traditional skills with digital technology has been a great leap forward and today the Steaven Richard Workshop offers all the design and technical solutions your projects require.

Steaven Richard

After traditional blacksmith training and 10 years working in Europe, Steaven Richard set up his first workshop in Paris. Here he met artists, sculptors and designers and developed his artistic approach. Certain renowned French interior designers were already incorporating his range of patinas and finishes. In 2013 Karl Lagerfeld commissioned a textured laminated silver nickel parquet floor for his studio within Chanel, an exceptional project requiring development of cutting-edge tools and techniques now under patent. Artistic lamination – a revolutionary concept – was born! Inspired by innovation, new challenges and creative exchange, Steaven continues to experiment and open up new aesthetic fields.
